What People Say…

“We teach our students social skills, which means they know their feelings and they know about empathy. They can handle conflicts with other children, because we’ve been there along the way to help them to shape them into robust young people”

— Louise Craddock, former primary teacher

"Learning about empathy changed my daughter's behaviour. She became more vocal and confident during conflicts with other children, but also more respectful and caring"

— Sarah Mendez, former parent

“What I love about Scandinavian education is that you let kids be kids. On the evidence of how the Scandinavian countries create wealth and happiness, I can’t see how this approach has held anyone back. Quite the opposite.”

— Daniel Curran, founding parent

School History

London Scandinavian School was founded as Dania School in 2013 by members of the Danish community in London, inspired by a parent wishing to provide their children with a learning experience similar to the one she had growing up in Denmark.

In the 10 years since the school has evolved from a school that primarily attracted Danish families in London, to a school that attracts London families from all backgrounds. Reflecting  this shift, the school has responded by changing its name in 2023 to London Scandinavian School.

The London Scandinavian School name describes its unique community and experience. Straddling multiple cultures requires a strong set of skills that centre around confidence. Our school is firmly placed in London, yet supports children that consider Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and other countries both inside and out of Scandinavia, home.
