Dania School Admissions Policy

Dania School seeks committed families and pupils who can contribute to and benefit from its high standard of education and care. Pupils are selected for admission to the school on the basis of the date when their child was first registered on our waiting list. Siblings will be given priority over this.

 

There are no entrance exams and the school does not seek an academically selected intake. Every child considered for a place will be given an informal assessment to assess the level of Danish language comprehension and fluency, and will be advised accordingly on how to achieve the standard expected for entry in to the Dania School.

 

Parents(s) or guardian(s) of a candidate may be interviewed in addition to the candidate. In all cases the school retains the right to determine, at its sole discretion, whether or not to select a pupil for admission or to re-enrol a pupil. The head has ultimate authority and sole discretion whether or not to admit or reenrol a pupil. Dania School will request a report from a child’s previous School to help with the transition process. Parents will also be asked to disclose any SEN information/reports.

Parent(s) or guardian(s) of accepted candidates must sign a contract committing to the school’s codes of conduct and ethos.

Equal Opportunities

At Dania School we also recognise the importance of the Equality Act 2010. This replaced and unified all existing equality legislation such as the Race Relations Act, Disability Discrimination Act and Sex Discrimination Act. It aims to ensure that all people (pupils/teachers/parents/family/visitors etc) have equality of opportunity in accessing and experiencing the life of the school. When carrying out our day to day work, we should have regard to the following:
